House Flipper Wiki

This page describes the tools in story mode in House Flipper 2. These differ from the tools available in sandbox mode that has extra tools for player made jobs and houses.

Trash Collection[]

Trash tool

In the original game, cleaning up trash was a simple task accomplished with a single button press, instantly disposing of the waste. In House Flipper 2's Job Mode, this process has been re-imagined with added detail. Players now use a trash bag to gather multiple items at once. Once the bag is full, it must be thrown into a bin, where the trash vanishes into thin air. Adding a playful twist, trash bags can be tossed from a distance, creating a fun mini-game element.

Flipper tool[]

Flipper tool

The flipper tool in House Flipper 2 has been significantly upgraded and now features four functions: Sell, Change Style, Copy Style, and Duplicate, each offering notable quality-of-life improvements over the original game.

  • Sell Mode: Functions the same as in House Flipper 1, allowing players to instantly remove items and receive a refund. This is the only function available by default, with the others requiring perks to unlock.
  • Change Style: Lets players adjust an item's style options directly, eliminating the need to sell and repurchase it from the shop.
  • Copy Style: Enables players to transfer the style settings of one item to another, provided the items support matching settings.
  • Duplicate Item: Allows players to repurchase an item instantly without searching for it in the store.

Wall repairs[]

Build tool

A new task in HF2 jobs is to repair broken walls, walls may have bricks missing that the player is tasked to replace. This is done by clicking on the missing brick and holding the button down to replace it, there is no need to purchase bricks before completing this task. This mechanic was altered after the launch of the game so the player can select an area on an existing, partially complete wall on which to place bricks as opposed to only being able to select the parts that where bricks were missing. This reduced the effort required to carry out this repair,

Cleaning[]

Clean tool

Stains in HF2 are cleaned with a cloth and spray, rather than a mop like the original game. The player can press and hold to clean a stain with just the cloth, or after unlocking the perk also use the cleaning fluid, which makes the stains disappear quicker. Cleaning speed can be further upgraded later in the game.

When in cleaning mode, approaching a stained window will give the player the option to use the window cleaning tool.

Vacuuming[]

Vacuum tool

In HF2 the vacuum is in the players tool wheel, and is used to clean up small bits of debris by pressing and holding.

Sledgehammer[]

Sledgehammer tool

Removing walls is similar to HF1 but with more control, bricks can be knocked out individually or in a group, holding the button down for longer will result in a stronger hit.

Tiling[]

Tiling tool

In HF2, tiling is accomplished by purchasing a tile pack from the store and placing the tiles within a square grid outlined on the wall. The grid's size can be expanded using the "Make it Big" perk. This feature changed from how it was implemented in the HF2 demo which required a layer of adhesive to be applied to the wall before tiles could be fitted. Once the tiles are placed a new layer of adhesive needs to be applied to change them. This mechanic was simplified following player feedback.

Painting[]

Paint tool

Painting is done square by square with a paint roller, the demo version had the upgraded roller available that allows for 3 squares to be painted at once. The same as with tiling, the player can pre-select an area of wall to paint to avoid mistakenly painting unintended areas.
