HGTV DLC is a DLC add-on to the game House Flipper. The premise of the DLC is to renovate (complete) houses for people, similar to the jobs that are given to you via email in the base game. However, the twist is that you get a set budget which you must adhere to, which is affected by the choices for furnishing/changing the layout of the house (which are always given to you by a man or woman) you make in renovation. When you successfully finish renovating a house, you can now buy that same house in the shop.

New location[]
All houses and jobs in HGTV are set in the fictional town of Sunset Bay, a seaside town that players can pan around when taking jobs from the laptop to get a feel for the position of each house within the town. As with the base game, each job has its own story behind the renovation.
New mechanics[]
Renovation budgets[]
Each of the 10 jobs in the DLC have an assigned budget separate from the players own cash reserves. The budget allocated to complete each job is ample enough to cover all the listed requirements. Often there is a remaining balance which the player can use to continue renovation beyond the minimum job requirements. When the work is done the player is awarded income the same as in the base game.
Choices, choices![]
Within each job there are different paths the player can choose for certain rooms in the house, these allow the player to have a greater influence on the final outcome. There is no right or wrong answer to these choices, the client is happy either way the player decides to go. These choices can change the purpose, such as a bathroom or storage room in A New Beginning, or style of furniture to be placed in the room.
Before & after[]
Once a job is completed, screenshots from multiple locations inside and outside the house are shown in a slideshow and saved to disk for later viewing. Two screenshots are taken at each location; one of the room in its original condition, and another after the player has finished renovating, just like in the TV show! This mechanic also applies to all player purchased houses sold outside of jobs. The location of each screenshot is predetermined and doesn't always show the best angles, if the player has altered the room layout new walls often get in the way.
