The "Tiling and Paneling" tool is used to apply tile or wooden panels to walls. It is unlocked through the Necessary extra bathroom job.
Tool Use[]
This tool is used to cover any wall (interior or exterior) with panels or tiles. The tiles or panels you want to use must first be bought from the Tablet, and the pile stacked on the floor for use. Then open the radial menu by clicking and holding down the right mouse button (default). Can also be switched to by using the "8" key (default). You can then left-click on the pile of tiles you placed to pick one up. After that you can hold right-click to place a wall-tile on a wall section. Only one section of wall can be covered at a time.
Half-Tile Walls[]
By default, all tile or panel options will completely cover a wall section from top to bottom. However, certain tiles in the store can be purchased as a half-wall option, where the top half will be paint (usually white), while the tile will only cover the bottom half of the wall section. Tile types with this half-wall option include:

In general, only the newest tile selections have a half-wall option, as it was not originally available in the earlier period of the game.
Additional Notes[]
- Covering the wall with Paint is significantly less expensive than tile.
- After unlocking a few paint upgrades, it is also faster than installing tile or panels.
- By default the player can only pick up one tile/panel at a time.
- Being able to pick up more tiles (3/5/10) at a time is unlocked from the perks list.
